Electrical systems installers set up technical systems for energy, control and regulation, as well as alarm, security, and lighting systems (such as generators, transformers, streetlights, overhead power lines, tramway overhead lines, or lightning arresters).

They plan the workflow, prepare measuring instruments, work tools, and primary and auxiliary materials. They also manufacture mechanical—and in some cases electrical—components used during installation.

Additionally, they install distribution and switch panels, wire components, and test system parts. Upon customer request, they also carry out repair and maintenance work on malfunctioning systems.
